So French
Today on my first day I covered so many quintessential French experiences it was surreal. To start the day off we arrived in France, took a shuttle to Chamonix, then got a ride to Argentiere where we are staying before the big hike. After settling in we went to a local shop for crepes, then off for a hike. The views here are spectacular. I thought that the Rockies were good, but the hills, stucco houses and beautiful mountain tops frosted with glaciers trump the rockies. our hike was fantastic with inly a few bumps along the way. the whole way up we had to stop and every switch back to take in the glorious views. Along these stops i discovered beautiful mountain blueberries very similar to the ones from dear long island. The hike was an overall success even though on the way down we encountered some cows who were not to keen on letting us pass. It took us a while to decide the best way to proeed. neither of us had encountered roaming cows who seemed to think they owned the trail. After some stellar bushwhacking around them, not even the rain could dampen our spirits. Only in the french countryside where the air smells of lavender would i have to change my route to go around the local cows. After drying off and drinking tea made from local plants, we concluded the day with a lovely meal with the chalets owners.
